Celebration Of The Centenary Of The Death Of Father Dehon In Montreal
On the occasion of the centenary of the death of Father Dehon, Founder of the Congregation, the Montreal community invited close collaborators from our parishes and institutions to celebrate this significant event with all members of the community. About fifty people responded to this invitation, filling the hall provided for this purpose.
It began with a Eucharistic celebration presided over by Father Richard Woodbury, with Fathers Hygin Nlandu and Louis-Marie Butari as concelebrants. Father Thomas Rainchou, Vicar of Father Louis-Marie at the parish of St. Vincent-Marie-Strambi, also joined them.
The congregation prayed with fervor and piety and sang praises to the Lord with joy and enthusiasm, in thanksgiving for the work and social commitment of Father Dehon and the Congregation of the Priests of the Sacred Heart, which he founded.
After the Eucharistic celebration, everyone enjoyed a time of fellowship over refreshments and a snack prepared by members of the community and two collaborators. Everyone expressed their thanks for the welcome received and the quality of the celebration and the time for socializing.
