Eight Dehonian Brothers: Living and Ministering together in Toronto
Walking together in the midst of the changing autumn season, enjoying each other’s company, praying together, absorbed in an evening movie aided with the treat of popcorn, celebrating Fr. Martin’s birthday, and “just being together” we gathered at the Archdiocese of Toronto Retreat Centre in Invermara, Ontario in the month of October. It became an opportunity for us to give thanks to God for all that has been ---!
Recognizing that we are eight confreres from five different SCJ entities around the world with different cultures and different ecclesiologies, we became even more aware that the LOVE OF CHRIST is impelling us to strengthen our community life with a deeper appreciation of our internationality by applying it not only to our ministry but also to the heart of our being together and our being with others who differ from us in culture, faith, and world view.
This sacred and privileged time together became a catalyst for us to dream of new pathways of creative energy for ourselves and for the various ministries imbued with possibilities and its challenges.
