SCJ Community in Montréal Welcomes Sisters to Strengthen Synodal Bonds Among Religious
Montréal, June 17, 2025 – The Priests of the Sacred Heart of Jesus (SCJ) community in Montréal opened its doors to two Sisters, Sr. Jacqueline and Sr. Donatela, on Tuesday, June 17, as part of an initiative to foster collaboration among religious communities in the Archdiocese of Montréal. The Sisters, responsible for religious life in the archdiocese, visited to gain a deeper understanding of the work of religious men and women in the city and to explore opportunities for collaboration.
The visit, which began at 11 a.m., was part of an ongoing effort by Sr. Jacqueline and Sr. Donatela to build connections with religious communities in the city. Their dual objective is to highlight the continued presence of religious sisters and brothers in Montréal and to inspire young people by showcasing the dynamic roles they play in the archdiocese. Additionally, the Sisters sought to discuss common challenges, such as obtaining necessary documentation, and to identify ways to support one another in overcoming these obstacles.
The SCJ community warmly welcomed the Sisters, with all local members present for the occasion. Following a productive morning session, the group shared a communal lunch, reinforcing a sense of unity. Discussions also focused on collaborative strategies to enhance their collective impact in the city.
This gathering underscores the commitment of Montréal’s religious communities to work together, ensuring their mission remains visible and relevant in today’s world. As Sr. Jacqueline and Sr. Donatela continue their outreach efforts, the SCJ community eagerly anticipates future opportunities for partnership and mutual support.
